School of Energy and Electrical Engineering

The School of Energy and Electrical Engineering was established in 2022 as a new school that integrates the resources of related disciplines such as Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics, Electrical Engineering, etc, in response to the overall strategic deployment of the university's "leveraging disciplinary characteristics and integrating superior resources" and targeting the national "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" strategy. Facing the national strategy of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" and relying on the world-class discipline of transportation engineering, the school centers on the disciplines of power engineering and engineering thermophysics and electrical engineering, and focuses on cultivating top innovative talents in the forefront interdisciplinary fields, such as "integrated technology for transportation energy fusion and energy production, storage, supply and utilization", "advanced power and energy-efficient utilization technology for transportation equipment", "collaborative optimization technology for transportation and energy networks", and "optimization and control technology for comprehensive energy microgrids".

The school has 76 faculty members, including 11 professors, 27 associate professors, 1 senior engineer, and 3 associate senior engineers. There are 7 doctoral supervisors and 47 master's supervisors. The school has a Shaanxi provincial teaching team, a Shaanxi provincial science and technology innovation team for new energy vehicle technology, and a Shaanxi provincial youth innovation team for energy-saving and new energy vehicles.

The school has one doctoral program of second-level discipline (new energy and energy-saving engineering for vehicles), two master's programs of first-level disciplines (power engineering and engineering thermophysics, electrical engineering), one master's professional degree authorization program (energy and power), and three undergraduate majors (energy and power engineering, electrical engineering and automation, new energy science and engineering), among which energy and power engineering and electrical engineering and automation are national first-class undergraduate majors. The school has a complete training system for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.

The school has established high-level teaching and scientific research platforms such as the "Shaanxi Key Laboratory of New Transportation Energy and Automotive Energy Saving", the "Xi'an Key Laboratory of Intelligent Expressway Information Fusion and Control", the "Shaanxi Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Center of Energy Saving and New Energy Automobiles", and the "Graduate Joint Training Demonstration Workstation of Chang'an University and Shaanxi Automobile Group".

In order to adapt to the trend of internationalization in higher education, the school actively carries out cooperation and academic exchanges with foreign universities and research institutions. It has established various forms of bilateral exchanges and cooperation with many countries and regions such as the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Russia, and well-known universities and research institutions in China. The school improves its international education level through teacher visits and study abroad programs. The school currently has multiple international cooperative training projects, such as the Joint Research Center and the Innovative Talents of Intelligent Transportation Systems (2020), which have effectively promoted the overall level of the school and provided a platform for communication and cooperation in scientific research in multiple fields under the vision of internationalization.
