On April 21st, Zhanming Chen, Xiaochen Wang, and Guoxing Li from our school went to Guangzhou to attend the 8th National Young Scholar Meeting on Combustion Research. The conference was hosted by the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics with the theme of "The Future of Combustion", and was organized by the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, South China University of Technology, and Youth Work Committee of the Combustion Branch of the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics. The conference mainly held specialized seminars in multiple directions, including laminar flame and combustion reaction kinetics, turbulent combustion and numerical simulation, engine combustion, solid fuel combustion and combustion pollutants, fire science and technology, and combustion diagnosis and new combustion technology.
Professor Zhanming Chen gave a presentation entitled "Visualization Research on the Combustion of PODE/Methanol Double Direct Injection Sprays" at the engine combustion seminar. The aim of the report was to explore the spray and combustion characteristics of PODE and methanol under high-pressure injection under the background of the "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" strategy, providing a basis for the development of carbon-neutral internal combustion engines.
In addition, the three young teachers participated in an academic salon held by the conference organizer and listened to the report by Academician Yong Chen on research responsibility and innovative thinking. Academician Yong Chen shared his research experience in energy utilization and environmental protection and talked about his insights and experiences during his research career. Academician Yong Chen encouraged young scholars to cultivate their innovative thinking and carry out research in response to the major needs and basic research challenges of the country, striving to become innovative talents in the new era. The participation of the teachers from our school in this conference has deepened the academic exchanges among young scholars and is of great significance for enhancing the academic influence of our school in the field of combustion.
